WHO WE ARE

MYEE

After practicing Pilates for several years I decided to go to another level and complete “The Pilates Method Full Comprehensive Program” run by Holly Murray at Pi Studio in London.

An important part of pilates training is continuous learning and a greater knowledge of the Method.  I continue to enhance my training and knowledge by attending international Pilates conferences and workshops generously given by Holly Murray, Bob Liekens, Siri Galliano, Brett Howard, Moses Urbano, Jerome Weinberg and Dorothee Vandewalle, Miguel Silva and Kathi Ross-Nash. I am looking forward to attending a symposium with Sonje Mayo later in the year.

I have been teaching since 2016. I love sharing Pilates with other people and it is wonderful to watch them become stronger and more connected.  The basic concepts of Classical Pilates can be used to improve and compliment all sporting activities, improve posture and movement, as well as enhance general well being in everyday life.  It's simply amazing!

SANDY

I have always loved sport; swimming, running and tennis.   But after one session of a curious hybrid of a ‘stretching and breathing exercise’ session in the village hall with my mother and her friends, I was put off anything slow that involved a mat.  If only someone had introduced me to pilates then - I might have avoided injury in the following years and I most certainly would have learned more about my body and from where in the body the source of strength, stability and flexibility lies.

Fast forward to my late 40’s and I was introduced to the reformer as rehabilitation for a hip replacement and my love of pilates as an exercise and a discipline was fostered and encouraged by Jo Scrutton of Studio 28.  Wanting to take this further, I completed the fully comprehensive classical teacher training under Holly Murray whose London studio was the first in the UK to be internationally recognised as a training centre to teach the Joseph Pilates Method.  I began teaching at Studio 28 in 2019 and moved to Studio 100 with Myee at the beginning of 2020. I continue with self training and education; committing to the principle that pilates is functional exercise to help with the business of living.

My focus is to help my clients, whether 14 or 70, to achieve their goals, to feel stronger, to stand taller, to move better and be pain free.  I truly believe Pilates can help inspire, discover or restore strength, stamina, confidence and capability.

KATE

I have had a long fascination with the human body and physical fitness, which began during my nursing career. I always encouraged and motivated my heart patients to be active and find an exercise that they enjoyed and could sustain for the long term in order to live a full and quality life.

My interest in Physical fitness, led me to explore my own journey of health and well-being. I am a mother of two and suffered low back pain after giving birth, which at the time was physically limiting.

I took up running 10 years ago which has kept me physically and mentally strong however I still suffered lower back pain and stiffness, particularly after a long run. After experimenting and not enjoying various gym-based activities, I found the classical Joseph Pilates Method, taught by a great instructor, and have learned how to restore the strength, flexibility and equilibrium in my body that allows me to enjoy my running pain free, with an improved technique, and increase my physical endurance.

My curiosity to develop a better understanding of the biomechanics of human movement, causes and treatment of sporting injuries and the detrimental effects our modern lifestyles have on our bodies, led me to undertake a BSc Hons in Sports Rehabilitation. In addition, I decided to further my expertise by learning the fundamentals of Joseph Pilates’ method and philosophy, in order to enhance my own practice and share the benefits of this fantastic exercise through teaching others.
